Mengo Hospital is the oldest Hospital in Uganda having been founded in 1897. It is a Christian, Missionary founded, Private Not-For-Profit (PNFP) Hospital. It is categorized as a General Hospital by government, but operationally it is a referral Hospital. It has offered treatment to tens of thousands of people over the years. The once Missionary Hospital simple structures, developed into the present-day 300-bed hospital, spread over 22 acres of land at Namirembe Hill.
