We are looking for a qualified English teacher whose aim is to broaden and enrich their skills in an international setting. The suitable candidate must be an internationally qualified and experienced Secondary English Teacher. English Language and Literature is taught using the Common Core State Standards (American Curriculum) across grades 6-12. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated professional who is able to foster creativity, develop critical thinking and analytical skills as well as inspire students as writers. Units include Western Literature, World Literature, American Literature and British Literature and creative and transactional writing. We expect our teachers to be reflective practitioners who can evaluate their own practice and develop the learning in their classroom. We are also interested in teachers who have experience of using dynamic and creative ways to biblically integrate the curriculum. An ability to teach drama would also be of interest.

Heritage International School is an all-age Christian international school located in the suburbs of Kampala, Uganda. It opened in 1994 to support children of ex-pat missionaries but has since expanded to welcome those of all faiths and none, whilst still remaining true to its core Christian values. We have over 40 nationalities represented and are currently moving towards our full capacity of 550 students.

Heritage International School is a dynamic Christian school serving a diverse group of families from a wide variety of cultural and faith backgrounds. We are fully accredited with Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges (MSA). We follow the North American based curriculum for Language & Math and the IPC curriculum for Social Studies and Science in Elementary. Our Secondary School is based on students working towards attainment of our High School Diploma and writing their SAT and or AP exams for universities in North America and beyond.
