Chief Regional Counsel holds overall responsibility for all legal matters and the good standing of the legal team in the region. The main responsibility amongst others includes providing support to regional business strategy and for close alignment of regional work with legal HQ strategy and initiatives.

Key responsibilities:

  • Organize and lead the team to efficiently support the company in achieving its business goals.
  • Ensures that all actions taken by the company, as connected with the assigned sector, are compliant with laws and regulation pertaining to the assigned sector and that associated risks are recognized in a timely manner and clearly addressed to relevant decision makers in the company. 
  • Track progress of overall team members in their area of work
  • Is part of the regional management board and provides ideas and sound advice, highlighting any risks and actively offer suggestion to the regional management board. 
  • Works closely and actively suggests to GC and Heads of work units on all projects and areas under legal department concerning the region including ideas on progress/correction
  • Responsible for implementing regional strategy and ensuring for a successful coordination and cooperation between regional teams and HQ on global initiatives/ global alignment in the assigned work unit.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining processes, procedures/polices in connection with the assigned area of work.
  • Closely follows and strives to implement best suited regional trends and practices, processes & procedures as applicable to the assigned area of work
  • Provides strong leadership and guidance to the team.
  • Responsible for maintaining a healthy, motivating atmosphere within the team, and department, in line with the company values.


More about you:

  • You have 10+ years of experience in the field under your belt
  • You have a higher education degree in Law
  • Strong legal function skills
  • You are fluent in professional English; if you speak Arabic language it is definitely a plus! 
  • Experience or being professionally familiar with the MENA region is a plus!
  • Experience in legal field within the telecommunications field is a plus! 
  • You have experience in leading and managing a team
